Carrie: Your Wayward Guide to Cool Jobs
Howdy folks, and welcome back to “My Cool Job” which has been on hiatus for some months now.
It’s funny how many times I have mentioned this blog to people in the last few months…and yet it is only in the last few days that I’ve come to realize:
a) How long it’s been since I posted anything, and how much I miss the fun of finding my interviewees and learning more about them;
b) How much I miss my WordPress pals: for a while now I’ve spent more time in ‘real life’ than online, but it seems that I need the creative outlet that this blog provides and the awesome interactions that come from it. Having a few of you peeps on Facebook just doesn’t seem to satisfy so I’ll humbly ask you to let me back into the blogosphere; and
c) I’ve committed a faux pas of the highest order by wheedling a dear friend into providing an interview, which somehow never got published, and it’s time to make that right!
Hopefully, all of the above will be corrected within the next 24 hours when the secret of what a ‘Usability Tester’ actually does is revealed in detail…
Stay tuned and tell me you missed me. I have certainly missed all of you!
Ha! You know we missed you (on both blogs)
jimsmuse sez: You know I missed you, too, Connie — well, except for the fact that I see you on Facebook 27 times a day and vice versa! Now we’ll have even more to laugh about! 🙂
Who are you?!?!?!??!? I can’t quite place you….but you may not recognize me with my new name! Lol. Welcome back to the fold, little noir sheep. Baaaa!
jimsmuse sez: To paraphrase my namesake Carol Ann (yes, it is my real name) from Poltergeist, “I’m baaaack!” (And BTW, love your new blog!)
ps. you look GREAT!
jimsmuse sez: OMG how did I not see a comment that contained a compliment?!? Thank you, Nat!
Welcome back!
Some change is as good as a restroom … or something like that.
I’ve been thinking of taking a break … or a fracture at least, but not today.
Glad to see you back.
jimsmuse sez: The only reply that comes to mind is… “Scarecrow, I think I missed you most of all.” LOL I’m happy to be back – now please don’t take a break yet – I just got here!
And where have you been young lady?!? Hoping you will stay awhile. We need you in our Bloggersville Neighbourhood!
jimsmuse sez: Hooray! All my friends are still here at WordPress (at least those that don’t entertain me on Facebook on a regular basis), and I’m glad to be back! As far as where I have been — it’s classified. 🙂
Don’t frettle, petal. I think a lot of us started with WordPress at around the same time and I know that a few have really struggled recently to keep going. Due to work I’ve had to cut back on how much I post, but the minute I get space to think, it’s the first place you’ll find me – on WP. Like you, I really enjoy the interaction with my blog-pals around the world. There’s a lot of love and support out there. Good to have you back.
Cool site!!! Just googled ‘cool job blogs’ and I found it, think this is a great idea. I never thought my job was really cool, until today when I was asked to judge entries for an online competition we ran, asking people how they lost their virginity!! Very fun 🙂
Keep up the great work, I look fwd to catching the updates and reading about other cool jobs out there.
jimsmuse sez: Thanks for stopping by, Leanne — may I direct you to the link that says ‘tell us about your cool job’! I’m sure the cool jobsters would love to hear about what keeps you busy!
Ok, it’s been more than a year since your last post. What’s going on? Need more material? I have changed carreers since! Want a story?

Neat blog! I was looking for translators blogs on wordpress and found your interview of a fellow French translator 🙂 If you are keeping up the blog, I will be glad to send you info on working at home as a phone interpreter… That is what I do, on top of translating 😉 Cheers!
