I just spent some time surfing the site Vocation Vacations. Actually, it’s sort of a really expensive version of what I’m trying to do with this blog, and I think it’s a incredibly 
cool concept.
The company offers vacations that allow you to “try on” a dream job for a few days with a mentor in the field of your choice, and the list of occupations is pretty amazing. The prices range from about $500 for a few days with a bookstore owner to upwards of $3000 for some time with a high profile mentor like a Broadway Producer or Baseball Team General Manager.
If anyone wants to slip me $1449, I’ll leave tomorrow to find out what it’s like to be a Sled Dog Trainer in Gokona, Alaska. That sounds like a cool job to me.
